Why is a RNA primer used in DNA replication rather than a DNA primer?

I am taking AP Biology and like the curious person I am, I asked this question that apparently not even our best teachers can answer. I looked on answers.com and similar ones remain unanswered. I ume it has something to do with biochemistry?
